Dua for Shifa from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Transliteration:
Allahumma Rabban-naas adhhibil-ba’sa washfi Antash-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uk shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqamaa.
Translation:
“O Allah, the Lord of mankind, remove the difficulty and bring about healing as You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that will leave no ailment.”[2][4][5
Dua for Pain Relief
When experiencing pain, it is recommended to place your hand on the area of pain and recite:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ Three times
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ Seven times
Transliteration:
Bismillah Three times
A’udhu bi’llahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru Seven times
Translation:
“In the Name of Allah” Three times
“I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that afflicts me and that which I apprehend.” Seven times[1][4]
Dua for Healing from the Sunnah
When visiting a sick person, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would say:
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَأسَ، وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Transliteration:
Allahumma Rabban-naas, adh-hibil-ba’sa, washfi Antash-Shafi, la shifa’a il-la shifa ook, shifa’an la yu-ghadiru saqama
Translation:
“O Allah, the Lord of mankind, remove the hardship, O Lord of mankind, give shifa, You are the One who cures, there is no cure except Your shifa, a cure that will not leave any sickness.”[4][5
These duas emphasize the believer’s trust in Allah’s divine mercy and ability to cure, and are recited to seek healing and relief from physical ailments.
