Dua for Taraweeh 🌙 “Night of Mercy: Sacred Words of Taraweeh”

During Taraweeh prayers, several duas are recited, each serving a specific purpose and adding to the spiritual significance of the prayer. Here are some of the commonly recited duas:

Dua During the Prayer

One common dua recited during Taraweeh, especially during the Witr prayer that follows Taraweeh, is the Qunoot supplication:

“اللهم اهدني فيمن هديت، وعافني فيمن عافيت، وتولني فيمن توليت، وبارك لي فيما أعطيت، وقني شر ما قضيت، إنك تقضي ولا يقضى عليك، إنه لا يذل من واليت، ولا يعز من عاديت، تباركت ربنا وتعاليت”

Translation: “O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, and grant me health among those You have granted health to, and protect me among those You have protected, and bless me in what You have given me, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. Indeed, You decree and none can decree against You. He whom You support will not be humiliated, and he whom You oppose will not be honored. Blessed and exalted are You, our Lord.”.

Dua After Completing Four Rakats

This dua is recited after the completion of every four rakats of Taraweeh prayer:

“سبحان ذي الملك والملكوت، سبحان ذي العزة والجبروت والكبرياء والجبروت. والعظمة والحياة التي لا تنام ولا تموت. سبوح قدوس ربنا ورب الملائكة والروح.”

Translation: “Glory be to Allah, the Possessor of might, dominion, magnificence, and the manifest dominion. He is the Owner of the kingdom of the earth and the heavens. He is free from any imperfection, and none is worthy of worship except Him. He is the Lord of the angels and the Spirit.”.

Dua After Completing the Qur’an

On nights when the Imam completes the recitation of the Qur’an during Taraweeh, a special supplication known as “Dua Khatm-ul-Qur’an” is recited. This supplication is lengthy and seeks God’s mercy, forgiveness, and blessings for the entire congregation and all believers.

Personal Supplications

During the breaks in Taraweeh, Muslims can also make personal supplications, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and blessings. These can be tailored to individual needs or for the well-being of the Muslim Ummah and the world at large.
