Dua for Seeking Knowledge and Understanding
Allahumma infa’nii bimaa ‘allamtanii wa’allimnii maa yanfa’ unii.
O Allah Make useful for me what You taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me.[3][5]
Dua for Guidance and Ease in Studies
Rabbi zidnee ‘ilma
O my Lord, increase me in knowledge.[5]
Dua Before Studying
Allahumma akhrijni min zulumatil wahmi, wa akrimni be nuril fahmi.
O God, please bring me out of the darkness of ignorance and honor me with the light of understanding.[4]
Dua for Ease in Tasks and Exams
Allaahumma laa sahla ‘illaa maa ja’altahu sahlan wa ‘Anta taj’alul-hazna ‘ithaa shi’ta sahlan.
O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if You wish.[5]
Dua for Clarity and Comprehension
Rabbishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree Wahlul ‘uqdatan min lisanee Yafqahoo qawlee.
O my Sustainer, Open up my heart and make my task easy for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so that they might fully understand my speech.[5]
Dua for Protection and Success
Allahumma inii as’aluka fahmal-nabiyyen wa hifthal mursaleen al-muqarrabeen.
O Allah, I ask You for the understanding of the Prophets and the protection of the messengers who are close to You.[3]
Dua Before an Exam
Subhaanaka laa ‘ilma lanaa illa maa ‘allamtanaa innaka antal ‘aleemul Hakeem.
Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. You are the All-Knowing, the Wise.[3] (Recite this 7 times before and after revision, and before the exam.)
Dua for Concentration and Victory
Allahumma j’al lii fi qalbee noora wa basara wa fahma wa ‘ilma. Innaka ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer.
O Allah, place light, insight, understanding, and knowledge in my heart. You are capable of all things.[4]
