When preparing for fasting during Ramadan, especially during the pre-dawn meal known as Sehri, Muslims recite specific duas to affirm their intention and seek blessings from Allah. Here are the relevant duas for Sehri:
Dua for Sehri (Intention to Fast)
Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri Ramadan
I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.
Alternative Dua for Sehri (Intention to Fast)
Nawaitu sauma ghadin anadai fardu shahri ramadhana hazihissanati lillahitaala
I intend to do the obligatory fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan this year because of Allah.
Reciting these duas before Sehri helps Muslims prepare mentally and spiritually for the day’s fast, affirming their sincere intention to observe the fast for the sake of Allah.
