Dua for New Clothes

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ

Translation:
“O Allah, praise is to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it has been made for, and I seek Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it has been made for.”.

اِلبَـس جَديـداً وَعِـشْ حَمـيداً وَمُـتْ شهيداً
Translation: “Put on new clothes, live a praise-worthy life, and die as a martyr.”

When Removing Clothes

Before removing clothes, it is recommended to say:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
Translation: “In the name of Allah.” This serves as a reminder to seek Allah’s protection from the Shaytaan and maintain modesty.

Translation: “All praise belongs to Allah who adorned me with clothing by which I cover (hide) my private areas and by which I obtain beauty in my life.”

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ
Translation: “Praise be to Allah Who has given me this garment to wear and has provided it for me with no strength or power on my part.”
